A. use this software

Hiren's Boot USB is a bootable USB containing various diagnostic programs such as partitioning agents, system performance benchmarks, disk cloning and imaging tools, data recovery tools, MBR tools, BIOS tools, and many others for fixing various computer problems.

It is a Bootable USB; thus, it can be useful even if the primary operating system cannot be booted. Hiren's Boot USB has an extensive list of software. Utilities with similar functionality on the USB are grouped together and seem redundant; however, they present choices through UI differences.

All in one Dos Bootable USB which has all these utilities.

i put a memory card from my camera into my phone and clicked format by accident?
Q. so now all of my pictures are deleted. is there anyway to get them back?

A. YES! You should be able to recover all or most of the photos.
IMPORTANT - Take the card out of any device and DO NOT use it for anything until the photos have been restored.

Formatting the cards erases the directory information that identifies each image on the card, but the photos (and most of the directory data) will still be there until you take another picture or copy a data file, music, etc. onto the card.

Next Google "Photo recovery" and you will find many web sites with photo recovery software some are free or shareware and many of the ones that are for sale include free trial downloads that will work for one card or for a limited number of pictures.

ADDED COMMENT:
I use Photo Rescue which I purchased from San Disk included with a large memory card.

The best way to do the recovery is to insert the card into a card reader. If your computer doesn't have card slots built in you can find multi-card readers at many stores. Many department stores, electronic specialties, office supply or discount stores have card reader for $10~$50 that plug into a USB connection on the computer. Just be sure to get a reader that accepts the type of card you messed up.

Here is an example of a decent card reader if you need one -

HTH. Good luck!

How can I see the contents of a folder containing photos and movies. It is full but nothing shows?
Q. If the contents are overwritten how can I reverse this operation. I know that the files are there, but nothing shows

A. I don't really get what ur point is. What do u mean by "If the contents are overwritten how can..........."
Anyway, I'll tell what I understood.
First, how do you know that contents r there?
Just because that u checked the directory's (that folder's) properties and it shows same amount of memory as is showed previously, or is there any other region for this...
See, the same memory as may b shown while right clicking the folder can also be (and most probably r) due to the other contents, that u overwrought.
Also, r u able to see the new contents, from which u replaced the older ones? If not then there must b a problem with ur explorer, or ur HDD.
Yeah, the most simple step is to just check that weather the hidden files r shown, cause they may be hidden. To to this, open your "My Computer" click tools menu, then Folder Option.
A popup window will open, in that window click on the view tab, and under the heading "hidden files and folder" mark show hidden files, if not set by default, u may also want to unhide system's protected file (this option is just below the previous one) cause, while replace the contents they cud have changed extension (its not obvious, though) which changed them to system's file.
If u find nothing then they r surely removed, the memory acquired can be of "temporary files" and all that stuff.

Now its time for other thing, as u've found that the contents r removed u'll be seeking to restore them. This work is done by file recovery software, u can find many by here:
http://www.google.com/search?q=Best+File+Recovery+Software
Here r the top 10

Also the top 10 sharewares
http://www.downloadatoz.com/a/data-backup-recovery/

The best (that I also used) is undelete plus
Also, if u r looking 4 a program that may do this, but also have some other features, then there's only one choice and that's
TuneUp Utilities
http://www.google.com/search?q=TuneUP+utilities&btnG=Search&as_qdr=all
It has a lots of option including the file recovery one.

........HOPE THIS HELPS.........
