It recovers data very efficiently if not overwritten. u can connect ur sd card to the computer and can recover the data with the help of this tool.
Though in free version it only recovers the 5 files but atleast u can get 5 of ur important files back

What free downloaded program can I use to recover files from an undiscoverable drive?
Q. My D drive died yesterday, and after having a competent friend look at it, he told me to look for "system data recovery" "hard disk" and "slack space" on google to find a program to find the files that were on my D drive. He thinks they are in slack space.
