How to recover files from USB?
Q. I have deleted some files from a usb and from my PC (including the recycling been) and I would like to restore them. I have tried downloading Smart Data Recovery but it only allows three files recovery for free. Do you know of a way of restoring those files for free either from USB or from PC? Thanks a lot!
A. You can try to recover your files with Easy File Undelete software:
http://www.munsoft.com/EasyFileUndelete/
It uses unique modern algorithms to recover files that other software either recovers incorrectly or is unable to detect.

How do I recover a wordpad document without using system restore?
Q. I need to recover a wordpad document that my dad deleted with passwords, account names, and recovery details... And my system restore wont restore my computer to any of the restore points. So I need to know how to get it back without having to use system restore...
A. For the best chance of recovering the file - stop doing anything with the computer - shut it down.
System Restore will only restore system settings, not files that were deleted.
Your best hope is to use some of the free data recovery tools available, such as Recuva (http://www.recuva.com/)
Be warned, the more you use the computer that the file was deleted on, the more chance that the file will be unrecoverable and gone forever.
Ideally, you should install Recuva (or another tool) on a different PC and then slave the hard drive from the current PC into it and then run the data recovery tool. Just installing an application on the current PC could overwrite the remnants of your deleted file on the drive and negate any chance of recovering it.
If this is too daunting for you and you don't want to pay someone for data recovery, you could try running the portable version of Recuva from a USB drive (http://www.recuva.com/download/builds). You would want to download it, put it on the USB drive, etc. from another PC because, again, the more you use your PC the better chance the file is gone forever.
