I have a business and I want to share files to other computers in my business. Would a server be appropriate?

Q. If so, would a Mac osx server be compatible with windows workstations?

A. Yes, setting up a dedicated server would be appropriate for a small business.
However, a Mac OSx server would be a rather expensive way to go.
I would recommend the following approach
Buy a lower tier small business server from Dell or HP
For a file server you are not going to need a really powerful machine, so ignore the temptation to step up the power.
Instead, invest in additional hard drives so that you can configure a raid array. You certainly want to have some time of automatic fallback protection for your files. You do not want to find that a single hard drive failure becomes a data recovery disaster.
For an OS, I would use Linux, or I would use one of the free NAS systems that you could download.
FreeNAS is based on BSD (which is the basis for Mac's OSx) and does everything a small business server can dream of
The price is just right - Free

Either way, you can build a nice file server for a reasonable price.

Is there a program for mac to recover lost NTFS partitions on an external drive?
Q. Question mostly says it. Preferably free (please no trials) or fairly cheap. And by lost partition I mean a hard drive lost its partition data and now it wont recognize the disc/partition.

A. If there is lost data or you want to fix the disk, you going to have to pay to get real drive recovery software.

This is a demo, but it works really well, the full version is only like $50. It will repair disks and recover deleted/lost data.

I accidentally erased a folder with my vacation photos. Is it possible to get them back?
Q. I mislabled a few folders on my mac and pushed secure empty trash on the wrong folder. Is there anyway at all to retrieve them?

A. Search google for free data recovery software. But download and install free mcafee siteadvisor plugin for your browser before searching. It detects harmful sites from where you should not download.
