Serious problems with my compaq, (fake spyware removal, isapnp.sys, Fl studio, agp440.sys) need help!?

Q. Some info: brand/model:Compaq Evo N610c OS: windows XP sp3

Okay well this is a really long detailed description of the problem and any advice will be greatly appreciated.
I will describe everything in steps as it happened,
1)I was downloading an .iso file for a psp backup game,
when i got one of those annoying fake spyware remover programs that act legit but
are just spyware. (i have gotten this before but this time it was a different spyware virus)
2)so i tried to get rid of it the way I got rid of the last imposter program,
but this method failed.
3)so i got spyware doctor(program) to remove all the infections my system had,
it found around 9 infections 3 of which being in the really harmful area. after I did this,
i tried to reboot because spyware doctor said it was needed in order to fully remove the infections.
4)while it was rebooting , it just froze, and it would not pass the main COMPAQ screen.
and in safe mode it would freeze while loading "isapnp.sys" .
5)so i found a website(using my other laptop) on how to fix that problem witch involved using the xp cd and the recovery mode, i deleted a few files and re copied them.
6)BANG! my laptop worked and I was happy, but i noticed that everything i had on my desktop was gone, so i had 2 profiles , administrator and a limited account. My limited account was gone and only my administrator profile was left. and the password had been removed.
7)so i checked on my harddrive and i still had all my data on the program files and on documents and settings. but a few things were not working,
heres a few things that changed:
a] for some reason i cannot move files from one folder to another,
i have to copy then paste or just click on the side where it says move file to, then look for the folder and thats a pain in the ass...
b]my winrar was acting strange because my .rar files did not automatically say extract here and all those option when the right mouse button is pressed. so I have to open the winrar program in order to extract it and all that.
c]when i go to the add remove programs option on control panel, none of my programs appear,
at first i thought it just took long to load them but i left it for a good while and still nothing.
d]and when i go to start>turn off computer, for some reason my laptop freezes!
the only way i can turn it off in order to save my settings is to open up task manager and then turn off, but even then it just reboots and doesnt turn off all the way!!
c]another urgent problem, i then recently found out that while using FL Studio, my slayer2 plug-in was not working! so i re-installed it, and tried every thing possible, but it still doesnt appear on my channels! and its urgent because i make music well noise actually and i have this compilation due on the 20th! and need my slayer2 plug-in in order to finish up my tracks (the reason why I am so stressed out)
8)so now when i try and enter safe mode,
it appears that it gets stuck in agp440.sys!

and its problems after problems!! I really wish i could just slam my laptop against the wall but I have all my bands tracks and info in there somewhere... so sadly I have to fix this problem by force...

so please if you have these same problems or know how to fix some of them let me know a.s.a.p,
thanks for the long read...

A. Hi There,

You can run antivirus and antispyware programs, but the sad fact is if you have found one virus on your computer, you probably have several. Cleaning the computer now requires you to follow these steps, because modern viruses and spyware entrench themselves in files that your computer needs in order to run:

1. Virus-check your data files (not application files-- you have installer CDs for those).
2. Back up the data files, getting them off your hard drive.
3. Get your original operating system CDs that came with your computer.
4. Boot your computer from the operating system CD.
5. Select the option that erases your hard drive and then reinstall your system software.
6. Turn on your software firewall that came with your operating system.
7. Reconnect to the internet, and download *all* Windows updates, no matter how long it takes.
8. Reinstall your application software, and update the applications as much as you can.
9. Reinstall your data files.
10. Create a limited user account on your system that does *not* have administrator access, and web surf only from this account.

Yes, this is a pain in the butt. No, there is no other way. No, antivirus and antispyware programs cannot fix this problem on its own.

So, what do you do in the future?

1. Never click on links you find in an e-mail.
2. Never open an e-mail attachment, ever.
3. Only download files from a reputable website that you know is on the up-and-up.
4. Never use bit-torrent and other file-sharing programs.
5. Never use an unsolicited drive-checking site.
6. Turn off all java and java scripting by default, and only enable java and java scripting for sites that you know you can trust.
7. Never read an unsolicited e-mail, and delete spam immediately. It is possible to be hacked by reading an e-mail alone.

Please adhere to the 'dont's' I provided above, because you will have to repeat the cleaning steps that I listed first *every time you get infected.* Anti-spyware and anti-virus programs are good to have, but they are a second line of defense. The best way to protect your system is you, and changing your behavior.

Will this work............?
Q. Ok I was getting pop-ups from intellengent advisor or whatever, and what I did was delete my user account and created another one. I dont have the pop-ups any more. I deleted all of the files and starting over. Will that solve my problem?

A. Spybot S&D is great but the CA security suite is terrible. The best anti-virus out there is free http://free.grisoft.com

Try going here to see if this is what you have installed:

http://forums.whatthetech.com/Intelligen...

the way it looks, you can just uninstall the nasty program:
PlayMP3z or IntelligentAdvisor

It could be listed under a different program name tho. Follow the steps at the page and hope it works. If not, then the bug is a new variant. Most malware is designed to be difficult or impossible to remove without a few registry hacks or dll removals. If not a techie then you may have better luck taking it to a reliable shop. Not geek squad or Staples, I mean a reliable local shop (where they actually know what they are doing!)

Or you could do it yourself easily by backing up all the data you want to keep either to CD/DVD-R or an external hard drive. You can then simply use your recovery disc set to restore Windows and the software that came with your computer. HP and Compaq have an option installed to create a set of discs. Most can come with the discs or a recovery partition on the drive.
