How to get back information after surviving from trojan horse attack?

Q. My brother did something to my computer, and when he told me something happened, and I had a look, the computer wrote, I got trojan virus, then I opened Noed 32 a computer virus killer, but in vain, the computer shut down itself, when I opened it, everything was cleaned, even the browsers were cleaned also. I checked the hard disk, which I plugged in the computer ages ago. The files were still there, but when you click inside, it is empty! Nothing is left in the computer now? Is there a way to recover it? Thanks

A. use this data recovery program to scan your computer and then recover your files.

This software scans all storage space on computer and then join pieces together to recover files. So even virus affected your file table, and put virus to boot sector, the program can still be used to recover your files.

A. Update and use your own antivirus or download one of the antivirus tools below and along with the spyware doctor and update them and restart your computer in safe mode ( tap F-8) during startup and select safe mode, then scan with the antivirus and the spyware doctor while in safe mode, this should find it so you can remove it; Please note that you should only run one antivirus on your computer at one time,,

How do I restore factory settings on a Packard Bell PC without a CD drive?
Q. My friend got a trojan virus and cannot access windows at all, how can he return the PC back to factory settings? Also, the PC does not have a CD drive.

A. not much detail... but nowadays, CD/DVD Drives are a"must have" on PC.
well.. you did have an old type PC,...
with none CD Drive on it, but i hope it did have USB slot/plug..?
And on condition that your Windows Installation is damage.cause of virus.. and you did not have the Packard Bell Recovery CD..?

Step 1 :
A. if you have external CD/DVD Drive then use it, plug it on the USB slot, then re-setting on BIOS, that it will first look boot up option is set to CD/DVD ROM Driver, save the settings
A1. then insert the Windows Installation CD and follow the next instruction wizard, choose CLEAN Windows installation and FULL FORMAT the hard disk, don't quick format it, because Trojan Virus are nest on the MBR Record Partition on the hard disk, that way they're all wipe out.
But remember always Backup your Document and Data/File to other media, such flash disk, or to another hard disk.
If you're asking on how to backup the data, take the hard disk to the other PC that have Windows in properly run, then copy all the document or data file that you need to backup.

Step 2 :
A. Take the virus damaged hard disk to the other PC that have Windows in properly run, and make sure this time the PC has CD/DVD Drive on it.
Replaced the original Hard disk with yours, and make sure the jumper is set to master disk.
Then follow Step 1-A1.
B. Hold the installation wizard when it reach the last proses (on XP, it is after the second restart process).
C. Take your hard disk and plug in back into your PC and followed the resumed installation until finished (depending on the PC component installation it will re-installed all the necessary updated file) and you now have the original basic Windows.
--------------------------------------------------------
If you can, try to upgrade the firmwire/BIOS setting of your motherboard, you can google or learn on it by typing the exact brand-type-serial of your motherboard and than download it.
The process called Flashing BIOS, remember DO it CAREFULLY, as it may total damaged to your motherboard, but it have to be done to get the maximum proper repairing process.
Next follow the above step 1 or 2.

Good luck
