Q. My MacBook was dropped. It turns on, the chime sounds as normal, but it stays stuck on the gray screen.
I am not yet sure what the problem is (suggestions are welcome!), but if it is a hard-drive problem and I need data recovery, would the technicians see exactly what content I have saved on my hard drive?

A. The would see, but they probably wouldn't care enough to actually look.
Just take her in and get it done. You don't even know if they will have to restore the data. Yours doesn't sound like that it is going to be all that bad, you can sit on the fence for ever, but that won't get your computer up and running.

What is the best method for recovering audio files after resetting a faulty hard drive?
Q. About two months ago my laptop stopped working and wouldn't get past the welcome screen. Thinking I wouldn't miss anything, I decided to start over and performed a factory reset. The thing is, I completely forgot to recover my voice notes O_O (very important stuff).. I've tried using data recovery software like Stellar Phoenix and Launch Data Recovery but the recovered audio files still wont render! If you guys have any solutions, I could really do with some help.
