Im running a small business Need suggestions for a good software?

Q. I'm running a small business, and I need to ensure my files, audio. Videos should be protected, can anyone suggest me a good software which is compatible with the Windows 7 operating system. I need file data backup and recovery feature, I could find some few software which either has got a file recovery feature or data backup but not both. I need a complete solution for my small business.

A. You can try Windows Home server, they have sorted out all the bugs they had in their initial release, you can try to install Windows Home server with Power pack 3 or else you can also use NAS.

How to retrieve data from a floppy disc that apparently was not formatted originally?
Q. Hello,

I am using my external USB 3 1/2 floppy drive to open and copy data from my old floppy disks to CD's and thumb drives. I am able to open and read all of the floppy discs just fine, except for one. I know there is data on it, but it apparently wasn't formatted originally. When I try it on my Windows 7 laptop and try to open drive A, I get the message "You need to format the disk in drive A: before you can use it". When I try it on my Windows XP pc, I get "The disk in drive A is not formatted".

Problem: I need the data that is on this disc. I can't copy the disc without opening it first. I can't open the disc without it being formatted. I can't format the disc without losing the data that is on it, which I need.

Any solutions?

Thank you

A. Either you are mistaken or something is wrong with the disk. A data recovery service can help but it's going to cost you. You could also try data recovery software like R-Studio, which will read the bits off the disk and attempt to reconstruct the data. Forensics software like ProDiscover basic operates in much the same way. Both will even find deleted files from a disk that has been reformatted.

What's the best software that i can use to erase my hard drive on my laptop?
Q. Ok, the only programs that i have heard about recently are: Dariks Boot and Nuke, Ultimat Boot Disk, and using windows Device Manager. I have a Compaq Presario CQ56-115DX Notebook with 2gb of memory, and windows 7. I have my recovery cd's and a recovery manager from hp that i can use to reinstall my my Windows 7 operating system. Can somebody please give me some solid advice?

A. Ok. I guess it all depends on what you actually want to do.

For example, if you are afraid of someone getting hold of you computer and using data recovery software to un-delete stuff that you have removed, then you would use a program that would "zero out" your hard drive, essentially writing null data repeatedly over the drive, to ensure it could not be recovered. Dariks Boot and Nuke. and the Ultimate Boot Disc could be used for this.

Now, if you just want to remove programs you don't use any more, then you can simply use the Add/Remove programs feature of Windows to remove them... or the uninstaller that comes with each program.

If you want to wipe your computer clean and reinstall Windows, then you can just use the recovery CDs... or you can use the recovery manager/partition that was included with your laptop.
