What is a good hard drive recovery center?

Q. My laptop's hard drive took a dump. Looking for a good hard drive recovery center to recover ONE file. That is all I need. My Firefox bookmarks file. How expensive could it be? I know it could run into the thousands for a huge hdd, but my drive was only 120GB's. Please advise.

Thanx!

A. you can try to recover your data with data recovery software, it's a cheaper solution and you do not need to reply on other people.

I used to use this program to recover my data

Are hard drive recovery centers safe ?
Q. I recently fried my hard drive. Im thinking about using a data recovery center. The drive i need recovered has alot of unpublished and un-copyrighted material that i have created such as screenplays and manuscripts. Im worried that the company having access to these will steal them during the recovery and with no backup on my part i would have no way to dispute that they were mine in court if i needed to sue cause someone uses it. Are my worries valid ?, any way to deal with this situation.

A. I honestly doubt a group of computer nerds in clean suits are going to care about some scripts on a hard drive, unless they are particularly erotic. They make a lot of money and therefore it probably isn't worth going to jail to steal something off the drive.

How do you get the administrator password on a Windows XP computer when the NTLDR is missing?
Q. I know how to get into the XP Recovery Center on the CD, but I don't know the password when I am selecting the Windows to recover.

A. You can overwrite that password with another password using this tool. I have used it and it works (I reset to blank, but you may not be able to use recovery console on a blank password)

BUT, if you have encryption, you loose that data.

Please read up on it before you use it.
