.....
cool but im pissed off.... it was cool for the first few days....
and i still think its very cool but the problem is that after a few days like 5-6 days... i started getting a weird behavior from it... then my sister was using it, suddenly it froze and she couldn't do anything... she turned it off and I turned it back on like half an our later..... and i get this message that it was not successfully shut down... and that recovery data was lost... something like that, it said i could recover it but then the screen went blank and it proceeded to the windows logo thing, when your computer is starting up...... so log in and I open the internet, click on the window and it wouldn't bring me to it its like i didnt even click on it.
also i want to know it the error was in that one computer, if it was a glitch, bug whatever you want to call it or if all hp computers are like that and if sony computers are better, and what computers are better than HP computers.... Thanks for all your help...

(I bought the computer at bestbuy... )
if it helps i bought the HP TouchSmart IQ506

A. Sometimes a new rig will be flakey. The first few days you have one they are always updating themselves etc. Could be sis shut it down in the middle of an update. Go to Windows Updates and get all the updates and go to HPs site and get the latest hardware drivers. If you then have issues contact HP. Sony is based in Japan. Chances are thou that, if you look at the CD drives hard drives etc in any computer it will say it was made somewhere in Asia. Western Digital and Hitachi hard drives are made in Thailand, Fujitsu in the Philippines, Pioneer Rom drives in Japan etc etc.

Sony vaio laptop-help again?
Q. so this is my previous question i posted....
If you are using sony vaio laptop you might know about the roxio software which comes installed in it.My roxio was working fine until yesterday.I did some upgrade of software patch from sony website and now roxio wont open.I also tried system restore but it didnt work.Speaking to sony customer care i was told i need to restore my c drive which i dont want to cuz all other things are working fine and i dont want to restore c drive for unnecessory reason. Is there any way i can undo that last update i made and bring roxio back working.Help me.

I received few answers and some of then mentioned that i can download the roxio software from sony website.I am using sony asia pacific website and i couldnt find the software.Where is it that you guys see it, help me find it?
And just so you know the update i installed is Optical Disc Drive Update Program Version 4.4.51.500 for vaio vgn-cr35g

A. First off you cannot download the Roxio Software from the Internet unless you "buy it". Did you not get a CD with the computer for your burner? Or one that states "Applications Recovery CD" ?

What type of "update" did you do? Was it a "windows update"? If so, try to remove the update from the control panel under add/remove programs and check the "show updates" box. Disclaimer on windows update clearly states: Use of windows updates is at your sole discretion. Windows updates may cause some 3rd party programs to not respond correctly or at all."

See if you can find a friend that has Nero and install it, much better burning software by far!

Here is the link for Nero 6.6 trial that does it all (except LightScribe),..you would need version 7 or above for that!

http://www.soft32.com/Download/free-trial/Nero_Burning_ROM/4-263-1.html

Yes but nero 7 is a little buggy, I know I have it, hate the Nero burning rights section,....and 8 or 9 is awful pricey if he's on a budget. Unless you have a lightscribe DVD you do not NEED anything above 6.6,..and I have NEVER had a problem running 6.6 to create movies, data disks, or anything else for that matter!

If you "decide" to purchase a newer version of Nero, MAKE SURE YOUR CD IS ON THE COMPATABILITY LIST. Some manufacturers drives have been know to cause erratic behavior with not only Nero but other programs such as Roxio, or Sonic.

ALSO NOTE: if you are purchasing 7 or above, those "burning rights" I spoke of are a form of DRM (Digital Rights Management). Do you really want someone telling you what you "can" and "cannot" burn???

Are We Headed for a âDouble Dipâ Recession? Itâs Possible?
Q. Yale University Senior Lecturer and Executive chairman of Morgan Stanley Asia Stephen Roach thinks itâs unwise to deny the possibility of a âdouble-dipâ recession. And itâs even âludicrousâ that the administration refuses to recognize the possibility.

âI am an advocate of the view that post-crisis recoveries are weak and much more vulnerable to double dips than most of the talking heads you have on this show,â he told CNBC Monday morning. âIâve seen repeatedly categorically denials from the president on down no danger of a double dip. Itâs ludicrous to talk about no danger of a double dip in a weak, post-crisis recovery. Youâve got to be alert for that possibility.

That comes as John Mauldin predicts a 2011 recession:

The data this week was just ugly. Even the uptick in the leading economic indicators, seized upon by so many talking heads, must have a large asterisk beside it.

This week we look at the increasing probability that we are headed for recession, and the follow-on implications. â¦

With the Fed artificially holding down rates on the short end of the curve, we are not going to get an inverted yield curve this time, so we have to look for other indicators to come up with a forecast for the US economy. We grew at less than 1% in the first half of the year. That is close to stall speed. And that was with a full dose of QE2!

A. Itâs possible? Itâs inevitable! With know-nothing Obama at the helm, the ship of state will sail right off the edge of the world.
