Q. Iâm currently in school for Information Systems and Data Recovery. Only problem though is itâs just an associateâs degree. I work full time and am going to school full time. I donât have the time or money to go for a bachelorâs degree. Iâll have experience in my field of work if that helps. Will I be able to find a good job (in Atlanta or NYC) with only an associateâs degree??
To anyone who knows (has experience; works in this field; only has an associateâs; etc..): What would be a good starting pay in this field with an associates degree?
Any input/advice is appreciated as long as you arenât a jerk.

A. With an AA degree and experience you should be able to find work. It may take a while since there are a lot of unemployed people with BACHELORS, MASTERS OR PHD'S that you might be competing against.
Oh my gosh!!! This is terrible. Our whole basement is flooded, we have had torrential downpours all day.?
Q. No flood insurance.
Water is filling the WHOLE basement, up to our knees. It finally stopped raining, so the water stopped coming in the basement back doors.
We live in the NYC tri-state area.
We lost EVERTHING, furniture, carpet, computer equipment, CD's, books, electronic equipment, books, files, EVERYTHING.
We live in a duplex, and our neigbor who shares the house with us had the same problem.
I guess tomorrow, we are going to have to rent a dumpster and start throwing everhything out. Also, we will have to hire someone to pump out all the water (it's like a freaking lake!!!!!)
This is going ot cost thousands of dollars, isn't it?
Oh by the way, we have carpet for the whole basement. That will obviously have to be ripped up.
What a nightmare. I had to call into work tomorrow, as my DH did.
Anyone have experience with this? What should we do first? Who should we call?
We saved as much as we could, but it was too late for most stuff.
Help!!!!
I should also mention, we have been in the townhouse for 3 years, our neighhor has been here for over 15 years. She said this is the first time since she lived here that this has happened. We figured it would be safe to set up our home offices downstairs, and have furniture down there, etc.
She is willing to split the cost of the dumpster we will have to rent, that is cool.

A. Several companies specialize in flood-damage restoration, but they are expensive.
Step 1 is to rent sump pumps (local rental stores have them) and get the water out. Mold and mildew will starf forming quickly in summer heat. Rent fans to help dry the basement. Get rid of carpet, drywall and other items that have absorbed water.
Your CDs and DVDs will be OK, but many other items will be ruined. Computer hard drives, where all the data is stored, can be saved. Freeze-drying books costs about $5 per book.
Flood recovery is just about the least fun you can have. Good luck!

Q. Ok my computer has so many virues and programs are getting deleted constantly because my curious nephew had to come and look at porn on my computer. Now when i turn it one it takes like 5 min and i have to restart it then put chooose last good configuration. So my only hope now i geek squad. i heard the fix all types of computer problems so i was wondering were can i find one of there store (i live in nyc) and if they will fix my computer how much will it cost
A. you should be able to find one in the phone book in nyc. but if you have a recovery disk you could try that and save yourself some money. depending on what make 'puter you have put the disk in and when it comes up to the screen that asks what you want to do tell it to do a full reinstall NOT a short one. you will lose anything you have in it but it sounds like most of your data has been corrupted anyway. Good Luck & BTW set up a password so nephew can't get on the internet anymore
